Onboard USS New York
The USS New York was officially commissioned on November 7th, 2009 in New York City. The LPD amphibious transport ship is the 21st of a planned 27 ship class. Capable of carrying multiple transport vehicles including helicopters, LCAC landing craft and rolling stock, the ship will be home to 360 sailors.
FMH is proud to have assisted in the construction of this ship which uses reclaimed steel from the World Trade Center Twin Towers. FMH Control Systems helped manage various ship systems including; Ammunition Lift Platforms, Weapons Elevators, Vertical Conveyors, Mooring & Warping Capstans, Well Deck Doors, Accommodation Ladders, Shell Doors and multiple cranes.
