Lean Manufacturing
FMH understands how the ability to offer efficient turnarounds and pricing to our customers depends upon the efficiency of our operations. In 2003, FMH embarked upon a journey into Lean Manufacturing with training and assistance from Minnesota Technology, Inc. Applying Value Stream Mapping, waste sources in the value process were identified. FMH then eliminated that waste while incorporating applied manufacturing technology and automation, quality systems, integrated manufacturing software and plant layout modifications.
By utilizing lean manufacturing strategies, FMH has been able to significantly increase production efficiency, shorten manufacturing cycles, and improve on-time shipments for our customers.
